the activities of the Newcastle Elementary PTSA - a non-profit
organization which supports the children of Newcastle Elementary in
the Issaquah School District.
Through-out the school year, we sponsor several
family events and student programs for our school families. We hope
that all of our families will get involved by:
§
Attending PTSA events
§
Helping children participate in our educational programs
§
Volunteering time and talents in the classroom, at the school, and for PTSA supported
activities
§
Becoming a member of the PTSA!
Be sure to check our calendar for information on PTSA
meetings (please join us!), events, and activities. You will also find information
on becoming a member and volunteering. If you need more information about
the school, you can find a link to the school and district websites.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact us - we are interested in
hearing from you!

Time to Order School Supplies
for 2010/2011 School Year
Believe it or not, it's time to start planning for next school year! Be ahead
of the game and order your child's school supply kits today. All supply kits
are teacher approved and custom packed for each student. No running from store
to store in August! New this year is the option for 4th and 5th grade kits
to be ordered with or without the required 3 Ring Zippered Binder. Paper order
forms can be returned to school up until Friday, May 21st. Online ordering
will be available from May 14 - June 14, 2010. Both options are easy, and your child's
supplies will be waiting for them at the Meet Your Teacher/PTSA Back to School Picnic
on August 30th. Questions? Contact: Debbie McAllister at debbiemcallisternew@hotmail.com. Click here to order online www.epipacks.com and use the School ID: NEW040

Summer Tans, New Shoes, Seeing Old Friends...
Those are just a few things that come to mind when you think of "back to school"
in September. But put yourself in the shoes of a Kindergartner or new student,
and you will find you may be nervous, lost and that buying lunch is a daunting process!
We are looking for at least six "guides" for morning d/o and afternoon p/u,as well
as, five lunch helpers. These are fun jobs, especially for parents of children
in Kindergarten! If you'd like to volunteer to help during the first few weeks
back to school, please contact Sharon Levy by June 1st at
info@newcastleptsa.org

Thank You for Supporting
May's National Teacher Appreciation
Week
Thank you to the
whole community for
making this year's National Teacher Appreciation Week a wonderful one. There were many things planned and we couldn't have made it happen without your help.
A special thank you to Nichole
Poletti and Kim Sherman for spearheading another
fun and fabulous car wash for the staff on Friday. They and their team of
volunteers did an awesome job of cleaning close to 20 cars - which was greatly appreciated!
Thank you too to their team: David, Nori Coulon, Carla Dietz, Laura Derwin, Michelle
Maresh, Jayme Benson, Weenee Crouse, Sean Nielsen, Weene Crouse, Lisa Vold and Nori
Coulon.

Thank You for Delicious Teacher/Staff Luncheon!
May 4th, the Kindergarten and 1st Grade Families hosted
our final staff appreciation luncheon of the year. It was a festive Mexican/Cinco
de Mayo themed luncheon and we had plenty of food for everyone to enjoy - with leftovers
for the staff all week! THANK YOU to everyone who cooked such wonderful dishes
and to those who helped with set-up and clean-up. It was a great luncheon
and really showed our staff how much we appreciate them.
Huge Thank You to the
Spring Book Fair Team
We are
excited to announce that the Spring Book Fair was a huge success! We
would like to thank all of our volunteers for bringing this customer
appreciation sale event alive. They worked hard to set-up the fair,
run the registers, cover the floor and much more!Thank You, Team. We
couldn’t have done it without you.
