Membership

The Newcastle PTSA strives to:

· Sponsor and promote activities and events that enrich the curriculum

· Provide funding for grants and programs that enhance student learning

· Foster a sense of school community

· Ensure timely and effective communication between the PTSA, staff and parents

· To increase financial support to the school through fundraising activities

· Providing information via newsletters, website and email regarding current and upcoming events

Why join the PTSA? The number-one reason to join the Parent Teacher Student Association is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school. When you join the Newcastle PTSA, you join a community that encourages student achievement and enriches the learning environment. We believe in building partnerships between our families and our school. Together we can make a difference!

But there are many more advantages. The Newcastle PTSA enriches the school environment in multi-faceted ways. Here are some to name a few:

Anyone can be a PTSA member. Not just Newcastle parents are PTSA members. We encourage educators, relatives, neighbors, community leaders and anyone wishing to support Newcastle Elementary to join. The Newcastle PTSA helps unite everyone for the common good of our youth.

Member involvement in the PTSA is encouraged at all levels. After joining, it is optional how active of a member you would like to be. The PTSA invites member participation in general meetings, committees, super fun activities and awesome events! The PTSA also welcomes member volunteering in its’ many programs and projects but again, it is entirely optional. The amount of involvement with the PTSA is your choice.

Our PTSA membership goal is to obtain 100% membership for the 2009-2010 school year. The strength of the Newcastle PTSA lies in our representation. Last school year, twenty-two Washington Schools reached 100 % membership, eleven of which were from the Issaquah School District and we are so PROUD to say Newcastle Elementary was one of them! We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to all for your visible show of support and we strive to achieve 100% membership for a fifth year in a row!

Sign yourself up and your spouse! We need both moms and dads to support our school. Reach out to grandparents and relatives! We welcome community members and all! Anyone that wants to help Newcastle Elementary represent each and every one of our students, please join the PTSA today! WE WANT YOU!
