Volunteer Opportunities

“Volunteers are not paid- not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.”  Author unknown.

The Newcastle Elementary PTSA depends on volunteers, like you, to be able to provide our programs to students, teachers and families through-out the school year.  We encourage every parent to volunteer, whether you have many hours to give or just a few.  You will find information about volunteer opportunities through:

  • The Volunteer Opportunities Form which comes home in the first school day packets.  This describes volunteer opportunities anticipated through-out the year.  You simply mark those volunteer activities that you think you can help with and send the form back to school with your child.  The information from this form is collected and provided to the chairperson for the various programs.
  • The weekly school/PTSA newsletter and/or PTSA e-group messages.  Through-out the year, as volunteer needs are identified for PTSA programs, requests will be sent out through the newsletter and e-mails.
  • Program chairperson. If you know of a PTSA program that interests you, please contact the program chairperson directly for more information on how you can help out.

Remember that Parents, grandparents, and community members are all welcome to volunteer to help.  If you need help identifying a good volunteer opportunity for your schedule or interests or just need more information about current volunteer opportunities, please contact Cindy Newbury at c.newbury@comcast.net.

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, have fun and also benefit the school community.  Check out our Volunteer Form.  It just got easier – you can now complete & submit our Volunteer Form all online!  Just click the committees you are interested in, fill out your name, and click the Submit button.
